Mumbai Indians (MI) yet another loss of the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) against the Rajasthan Royals (RR), as it was their 4th in 5 games, a lot of credit for the same goes to a blistering inning from 29-year-old Karnataka all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham. He had bowled 3 economical overs earlier for Royals giving just 20 runs in his 3 over spell.
The player was hailed all over for his superb match-winning performance. Rajasthan Royals mentor Shane Warne too didn’t miss the opportunity to praise the impressive knock of Gowtham which took his side over the line in the final over of the match. Notably, Warne is not on the side at the moment because of some personal work and will be joining the team next week.

On Sunday night, the match saw take a lot of twists and turns on numerous occasions. He recovered well after an early blow with the record-breaking partnership between Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan. The two added 129 runs for the second wicket as Mumbai looked set for a huge total. However, once the partnership got broken, RR’s bowlers bowled to their plans and did not allow the other batters to get big runs. Jofra Archer who made his IPL debut and finished the game with the figure of 3-22 in his 4 overs. Mumbai eventually could post 167 runs in the 20 overs.
Royals had a shaky start to their innings as they lost two wickets inside the powerplay. However, determined effort from Sanju Samson and Ben Stokes kept the Rajasthan team ahead in the match. Samson hit his half-century of the season. The duo added 72 runs. It was Bumrah’s 3rd over where he sent Samson and Buttler back to the pavilion in back-to-back deliveries to bring Mumbai back in the match. However, his final over, 19th of the innings saw Krishanappa Gowtham go all gun blazing as he torn apart the bowler collecting 18-runs in the over.
The final over was bowled by Hardik Pandya who stuck on the first ball to send Archer back to the pavilion. However, Gowtham just took 3 balls to seal the match in favor of Royals.
