IPL 2018: Finale (SRH vs CSK) – The convolution at the toss

During the final match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Mumbai, convolution broke out at the toss after Sanjay Manjrekar failed to pick Kane Williamson’s call.

The two captains in Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Williamson had walked out for the toss ahead of the big final. Manjrekar was present in the middle as the presenter.

After Dhoni tossed the coin, Williamson called tails. Unaware about whom called tails, Manjrekar asked Williamson if he called heads. On this, Dhoni replied that Williamson called tails and that he has won the toss. After a few seconds of comedy, everyone came to terms that Williamson had called tails and after heads came down Chennai Super Kings had won the toss.

Dhoni chose to field first. Making a solitary change to their playing eleven, Chennai Super Kings included Karn Sharma in place of Harbhajan Singh. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad made a couple of changes, bringing in Sreevats Goswami and Sandeep Sharma in place of Wriddhiman Saha and Khaleel Ahmed.
