IPL 2018: Sunrisers score 10 runs off the last over

During the final match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Mumbai, Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 10 runs off the last over of the over as they ended up scoring 178-6 in their allotted quota of 20 overs.

Earlier Mahendra Singh Dhoni, captain of Chennai Super Kings, had won the toss and chose to field first. Making a solitary change to their playing eleven, Chennai Super Kings included Karn Sharma in place of Harbhajan Singh. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad made a couple of changes, bringing in Sreevats Goswami and Sandeep Sharma in place of Wriddhiman Saha and Khaleel Ahmed.

Brathwaite hits his third six.

Sunrisers had two big-hitting batsmen in Yusuf Pathan and Carlos Brathwaite in the middle in the last over. Shardul Thakur, who was introduced into the attack in the last over of the powerplay, was called in to bowl the last over. Bowling his third over, he conceded 10 runs and picked up a wicket.

On the penultimate delivery of the over, Thakur’s short-ball was thwacked over long-on for a six by Brathwaite. On the following delivery, Brathwaite’s attempt to pull the ball for another six saw him mis-timing it to Ambati Rayudu at long-on. Brathwaite scored 21 (11) with the help of three sixes.
