During the fifth match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders at Chennai, Suresh Raina ran out Robin Uthappa with a pinpoint direct hit.

Raina’s brilliance came in at a point when Knight Riders had already lost a couple of quick wickets. The fact that he ran out someone of Uthappa’s stature must have meant a lot to the Super Kings.

It happened on the second delivery of the ninth over when Dinesh Karthik punched a Shane Watson delivery to the covers region. Karthik urged for the single, in which his partner wasn’t interested. Confusion struck mid-way which resulted in Uthappa not being able to return back to the non-striker’s end on time.

Raina, who was fielding at covers, collected the ball, turned around and hit a direct-hit which saw Uthappa short of his crease. Raina was seen celebrating vividly after his effort. Uthappa ended up scoring 29 (16) with the help of two fours and three sixes.
