2. Magnificent chase from MS Dhoni

Brilliant start from Chris Gayle in the match meant Chennai Super Kings had to chase 198 runs to win. Gayle in his returning season scored 63 runs in 33 balls.  The start from Chennai was subdued and Murali Vijay and Watson failed to have a flying start.

Once last match’s hero Sam Billings got out early and the responsibility of the chase now fell on the shoulders of MS Dhoni and Ambati Rayudu. Dhoni after building up the innings slowly started his old brand of attack once the situation became intense.

The chase was truly on when MS Dhoni took control in his hands. After smashing 19 runs in the Tye’s 19th over, MSD needed 16 runs from the last over of Mohit Sharma. Mohit bowled shrewdly and kept the target safe but Dhoni’s innings of 79 from 44 was his best in the IPL so far.
