During the 43rd match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Jaipur, Chennai Super Kings scored 176-4 in their allotted quota of 20 overs.
After winning the toss, MS Dhoni, captain of Chennai Super Kings, had chosen to bat first. The Super Kings did not get off to the best of starts, losing Ambati Rayudu (12) in the third over. However, Shane Watson and Suresh Raina did not let the early wicket affect the rest of the innings.
The duo scored runs thick and fast as the Super Kings made a promising progress. At the end of the powerplay, Chennai had scored 55-1, which gave evidences about their intentions. At the halfway mark, they had scored 90-1 and were looking set to cross the 180-run mark.

The 94-run partnership between Watson and Raina eventually came to an end after Watson (39) miscued a pull off Jofra Archer in the 12th over. On the final delivery of the same over, with a single on the leg-side, Raina completed his 34th IPL half-century. In the following over, Raina top-edged a sweep off Ish Sodhi as the Super Kings lost two set batsmen in quick succession. He ended up scoring 52 (35) with the help of six fours and a six.
Dhoni and Sam Billings stitched a 55-run stand at the death as Chennai completed their innings on a respectable score. However, considering the start that they have got, they would have aimed at an even better score at the halfway mark. For the Royals, with bowling figures of 4-0-42-2, Archer was the pick of the bowlers.

CSK and RR have played same number of seasons in IPL – nine – but CSK have played 14 matches more than RR which is almost what a team plays an entire season. 😮 #RRvCSK #IPL2018

It's pretty hard to believe that this isn't the Dhoni 7 years back . Lightening between the wickets, clearing the ropes with ease and finishing off innings with style. Vintage MSD ! #RRvCSK
