During the 30th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Delhi Daredevils (DD) at Pune, Chennai Super Kings put in a splendid batting effort as they scored 211-4 in their allotted quota of 20 overs.
Shreyas Iyer, captain of Delhi Daredevils, had won the toss and put the Super Kings in to bat. Shane Watson and du Plessis started the innings on a watchful note, but picked up after the first few overs. The duo ended up sharing a 102-run stand for the first wicket.

Watson per se was brutal against the opposition bowlers. Watson registered his first half-century of this season, his 15th overall, 78 (40), with the help of four fours and seven sixes.
Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni came in to bat in the 14th over after Watson was dismissed by Amit Mishra. Dhoni did not waste time in getting his eye in, playing his shots from the word go. Rayudu, on the other end, provided equal support to his captain.
The duo shared a 79-run partnership, which came off 36 balls. Dhoni ended up scoring 51* (22) with the help of two fours and five sixes. With bowling figures of 1-0-5-1, Glenn Maxwell was the pick of the Daredevils’ bowlers. Watch how Twitterati reacted on Chennai Super Kings’ innings:

No amount words can describe the kind of importance, impact and power that legendary Australian Shane Watson has brought 2 this CSK team. The kind of innings he has played today proves that he may have hung his boots as far as Australia goes but for CSK he is gold! #SelectDugout

Rayudu is making a very strong case to be reconsidered for the Indian ODI-T20 team. I’m sure the selectors are keeping a close eye too… #CSKvDD #IPL
