Th IPL extravaganza began at the Wankhede Stadium on 7th April 2018, Saturday. The first week of the cricket’s most-watched carnival is already over, can you believe it? In this week we have so much of action and far too many last-ball thrillers. There have been a few one-sided matches and a few extraordinary performances. Here is a look back at the team that has dominated the Indian Premier League so far.

Sunrisers Hyderabad

If you glance at the points table now, you will find Sunrisers Hyderabad on the top. The Deccan team has won its both matches. Only Chennai Super Kings have been able to emulate the feat alongside Hyderabad. While Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils are the two teams who are yet to open their account in the IPL 2018. If we compare net run-rate SRH is way ahead of CSK in the first week.

Sunrisers Hyderabad began their IPL campaign with a dominating triumph over the returning Rajasthan Royals. The Royals were choked while batting first and could not rake up an intimidating total. SRH unleashed their in-form opener Shikhar Dhawan who slammed a crushing 78* to take the victory home. The first win for Hyderabad was very comfortable.

They were strolling on their path to victory against the Mumbai Indians too. Needing only 12 runs from 15 balls with 5 wickets in hand, there was no way Mumbai could make a match out of it. They somehow did. SRH threw wickets and their tail-enders did not know how to cope up with the MI bowling and the match boiled down to the last ball. SRH prevailed and scored their second win.

Although the last match of SRH was a thriller, they were in commanding positions for both the matches and dominated the opposition as compared to CSK who won from an almost losing situation. The statistics are also headed by SRH.

Dhawan leading the IPL 2018 run tally

Shikhar Dhawan is sitting pretty with an orange cap on his head. He has scored 123 runs in his two innings at a strike rate of 144. Rashid Khan has again impressed everyone as the teams have found him hard to get away. He has given only 36 runs in his 8 overs so far.

Sunrisers Hyderabad has started off brilliantly but both their victories have come at home. They will be playing two away matches in this week. Can they keep up their domination, only time will tell.
