Coming back to the match, after losing to CSK for four consecutive games last season, the Hyderabad managed to beat the men in yellow by six wickets at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The hosts ran through the CSK batting order after which an onslaught by the SRH top-order batsmen got them over the line. SRH also moved one place up to the fifth position on the table.

CSK won the toss and elected to bat first and the decision failed for the visitors for them as the visitors could only score 132/5 Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis got CSK off to a decent start courtesy of a stand of 79 off 59. SRH’s batting order had already collapsed in a couple of games, chasing modest targets. However, this time, they David Warner and Jonny Bairstow started on a positive note and literally put CSK out of the game as they chased down the total with 19 balls to spare.
