The 2019 World Cup will be contested just after the Indian Premier League which is expected to finish by the second week of May. India lost the home series against Australia by 2-3 and will still be wondering for their 15-member Squad that will represent the Indian team in the mega event to be held in England at the end of the May month.
India has tried with a lot of experiments in the different overseas tours as well at home. The No.4 position in the batting line-up is still on the hunt even after trying 10 players at that position where even Dhoni and Hardik Pandya type players were tried but were not performing at that position, Ambati Rayudu has been given the most opportunities to bat at No.4 of 16 times.

Even the back-up wicket-keeper for Dhoni between Pant and Karthik as Pant was not up to the mark in the Australian ODIs. All these issues will have to be solved by the selection committee looking at some of the player’s performance in the upcoming IPL season. 5) Vijay Shankar
The Tamil Nadu local boy showed his excellent all-round show in the Nagpur ODI where he scored 46 with the bat and defended 11 runs in the final over against Marcus Stoinis who was looking in a good touch to finish off and Shankar got him leg before wicket. It was a performance which got everyone’s attention.
According to cricket commentator, Sanjay Manjrekar Shankar should be batting at No.4 position and he should be used as a part-time bowler rather than bowling full quota of 10 overs. Shankar who has been traded from Delhi Capitals to Sunrisers Hyderabad and will be considered in the Playing XI based on his latest performances.
