During the toss, the KXIP skipper, R Ashwin made shocking revelations as Punjab dropped Chris Gayle and Andrew Tye and in place of them, Mujeeb Ur  Rahman and Sam Curran came in the squad. On the other hand, Delhi made only one change as Amit Mishra made way for Avesh Khan. KXIP had a rough start as they lost Rahul in the second over of the innings itself. However, Curran kept the momentum as he smashed three glorious boundaries to Avesh in the very next over.

Curran was looking in the great touch as after smashing Khan he smashed Sandeep Lamichhane for a six as well before getting out on the next ball of the fourth over as well. Soon after his dismissal, Mayank Agarwal got out as well as he had a brain fade moment for him at the non-striker’s end.
