Chennai Super Kings will host Kings XI Punjab in Saturday’s double-header in Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium. Both teams are doing well in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League 2019 and are sitting in the top half in the Points Table. Chennai lost the last game they played against Mumbai Indians, which was their first defeat in this season. They will try to take it as an aberration and will focus to do better in the next game. On the other hand, Punjab has come out as one of the strongest teams in IPL 2019 as they won three out of their four matches. Ravichandran Ashwin is leading the team well and will try not to replicate the last year’s poor run of loses despite being on top of the table after the first six games.

Chennai Super Kings

CSK played against Mumbai at Wankhede Stadium, where they lost the game by 37 runs. The top-order didn’t provide them with the best start up front and the middle-order couldn’t survive under the pressure of mounting required run-rate. Their bowlers were poor at the death overs and leaked too many runs, which helped MI to dominate the game.

Chennai will not mind that defeat and will try to consolidate their position at the points table. They can make few changes in the team and either of Harbhajan Singh or Mitchell Santner can come in place of Mohit Sharma. Ambati Rayudu is also not playing well this season and he can be replaced by Faf du Plessis. In this case, Harbhajan Singh is likely to play ahead of Santner.

Probable XI: Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, Suresh Raina, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni (C/WK), Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Harbhajan Singh, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Imran Tahir.

Kings XI Punjab

KXIP is doing well in the ongoing season and has won three out of four matches they have played in IPL 2019. They played Delhi Capitals in their last game at Mohali and won the game on the back of an inspired bowling performance by Sam Curran. Delhi was cruising towards an easy win until they were ripped apart by Curran, who bagged a hat-trick to force a collapse from 144/3 to 152/10 and won the game by 14 runs.
