The Sunrises Hyderabad (SRH) are taking on Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. After winning the toss, the SRH skipper, Bhuvneshwar Kumar decided to bowl first on a tricky pitch and bowlers didn’t disappoint at all. Mumbai was reeling at 43-3 after 9 overs still, they managed to win the game by 40 runs.

During the toss, the MI skipper, Rohit Sharma revealed that they have made two changes in their squad Yuvraj Singh and Lasith Malinga made way for Ishant Kishan and Alzarri Joseph. On the other hand, SRh made no changes to the squad as Kane Williamson is still not able to be completely fit.

Mumbai had a forgettable start to their innings, as Rohit got two back-to-back lifelines in the first over of the match itself. However, in the 4th over, as he finally got dismissed by Mohammad Nabi. Then came Surya Kumar Yadav, who also got out in the 6th over by Sandeep Sharma and after that Quinton de Kock and Krunal Pandya also got out as MIwas struggling at 63/4 after 12 overs. In the next over itself, Kishan also got dismissed owing to the brilliance of Jonny Bairstow and Vijay Shankar.

After Kishan’s dismissal, Everyone expected that it would be the time for Kieron Pollard and Hardik Pandya to use their willow once again over the SRH bowlers. However, even they found it tough to handle the bowling of Hyderabad. Hardik, who stayed at the crease for 14 balls whacked a six before being dismissed to Rashid Khan but he smacked a six before that. In the end, it was Pollard and Rahul Chahar, who helped Mumbai Indians to cross 100 runs on the board as  Mumbai reached the total of 136/7 in their quota of 20 overs.

During the chase, the SRH openers, Bairstow and David Warner started the innings well, as they scored 33 runs in just 3.3 overs before the former getting out in the 4th over by Rahul Chahar. His dismissal triggered the collapse of SRH in a matter of 9 runs, they lost three wickets of, Warner and Vijay Shankar along with Bairstow and two of them were taken by the debutant Alzarri Joseph.

SRh never managed to come back in the game after that despite the fact that Manish Pandey and Deepak Hooda made a partnership but after former wicket in the 11th overs, the game almost turned completely in Mumbai’s favor. Again they lost wickets in the regular intervals. They were 5 down with a score 88 on the board by the 15th over then came Joseph to bowl again and his next two over his got 4 crucial wickets for MI as the hosts were bundled out for 96 in the 18th over.

Joseph ended the match with the best IPL figures of 6/12 which included a maiden over as well.
