The second match of the Indian Premier League turned out to be a cracker contest, where Kolkata Knight Riders did an absolute jail-break. Andre Russell played a gem of an innings towards the end to take KKR over the line. Earlier, David Warner was in the good flow and scored 85 runs and took Sunrisers Hyderabad to 181/3 in 20 overs. Vijay Shankar played a crucial role and gave SRH a much-needed flourish towards the end.

The big West Indian all-rounder was in good form in his first match of the IPL 2019. First, he picked two wickets with the ball; one of them was of David Warner, who was looking dangerous to take SRH over 200. His match-winning effort came with the bat, where he scored 49 runs off just 19 balls including four towering sixes and as many four. He won the game for KKR from the jaws of defeat.
Nitish Rana (KKR)
Nitish Rana came to open the batting with Chris Lynn and scored a brilliant 68 runs. He held KKR’s inning together after Chris Lynn got out early and shared an 80-run second-wicket partnership with Robin Uthappa. Rana’s 68 runs came at a high pace of 144, where hit 8 fours and three sixes.
David Warner (SRH)
Making a comeback in the Indian Premier League, David Warner tore the KKR bowling lineup apart in style and scored 53-ball 85 runs. His glittering innings features nine fours and three towering sixes. Warner shared a 118-run opening stand with debutant Jonny Bairstow and held the innings together.

Vijay Shankar (SRH)
Indian all-rounder put his batting talent for display at Eden Gardens. When Sunrisers Hyderabad was lost a couple of wickets in the death overs, Shankar gave them the final flourish and scored 40 runs in 24 balls, including two fours and as many sixes. Shankar’s cameo in the death overs took SRH to 181/3 and gave KKR a big score to chase.
