Flops

KKR
Sunil Narine

Sunil Narine (KKR)

Kolkata Knight Riders’ mystery spinner had a rare off day at Eden Gardens. He was not looking in his usual rhythm and was giving some freebies to batsmen. Narine bowled only three overs and conceded 29 runs. While fielding at covers, he received a blow on his hand and went off the field, which forced him not to open the batting.

Chris Lynn (KKR)

Chasing 182 runs, KKR was looking for a flier of a start but destructive Aussie opener Chris Lynn fell cheaply to Shakib Al Hasan. He was looking rusty from the start and Bhuvneshwar Kumar was troubling him with swing. Lynn (7) tried to break the shackles in Shakib’s over a hit s towering six but fell two balls later in the same over.

Bowling the crucial penultimate over of the match, Bhuvneshwar Kumar conceded 21 runs and the equations reduced to 13 off 6 balls. He was captaining Sunrisers Hyderabad for the first time in absence of regular skipper Kane Williamson but failed to win a game on his captaincy debut. Bhuvi went wicketless in the game and his spell reads 4-0-37-0.
