On Thursday, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will take on Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Eden Gardens in the 43rd match of IPL 2019 on April 25. KKR has lost its way in the middle as under the leadership of Dinesh Karthik, they have has lost 5 matches in a row. It was so very unexpected from a team that was dominating initially.

In the current scenario, KKR now has 8 points with 4 wins and 6 losses. Even though they are still in contention for playoffs, they need to raise their game massively in order to get back to the winnings ways.

On the other hand, RR has been enjoying some indifferent this season so far. They lost their last game against Delhi Capitals (DC) despite performing well. RR is standing at the no.7 position at the points table. They have to win all their remaining matches to even stay in contention. But against KKR in their own backyard, it’s going to be tough to get over the hosts.

Despite the fact that KKR lost their last game against SRH, they might opt to retain the same squad as it’s not about the performance of the players in their squad, it’s more of the mindset of the cricketers. If most of the players decided to do well, the Kolkata-based franchise is good enough to win the game. However, in place of the KC Cariappa, KKR team management might opt to play with Kuldeep Yadav.

Probable XI: Chris Lynn, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik (c & wk), Shubman Gill, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Piyush Chawla, Rinku Singh, Harry Gurney, Kuldeep Yadav/ KC Cariappa, Prithviraj Yarra

RR lost their last game against Delhi despite performing well and because of that, they might not opt to make any further changes in their squad.  However, the flamboyant all-rounder, Ben Stokes’ form has been a matter of concern for RR and they might opt to included Liam Livingstone in place of Stokes.

Probable XI: Steve Smith(c), Ajinkya Rahane, Sanju Samson (wk), Liam Livingstone/ Ben Stokes, Stuart Binny, Shreyas Gopal, Jofra Archer, Dhawal Kulkarni, Jaydev Unadkat, Ben Stokes, Riyan Parag
