After winning four matches in their first five games, KKR has failed miserably since as the veterans like Kuldeep Yadav and Robin Uthappa failed to make a mark and they even being dropped in last two games. On the other hand, MI head into this match with a morale-boosting win in Chennai and no huge worries heading into the clash, with Rohit Sharma and Lasith Malinga have finally found back their form.

Carlos Brathwaite has been failed to prove his worth in both his outings for KKR and should ideally make way for Matt Kelly or Harry Gurney while Kuldeep Yadav could also return in what is a do-or-die game for them. Karthik has been quite effective at number four although Sunil Narine’s batting position can still be questioned with him batting at number five in the previous game.

Possible XI: Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Shubman Gill, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik (c&wk), Andre Russell, Rinku Singh, Piyush Chawla, Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna, Harry Gurney/ Matt Kelly

Mumbai Indians (MI)

In spite of Evin Lewis and Anukul Roy having a decent outing in Chennai, both of them are expected to make way for Ishan Kishan and Jason Behrendorff with the conditions favoring swing bowling. The rest of the side doesn’t demand any change. With Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock doing well at the top of the order, MI enter the match as the undeniable favorites in the first KKR vs MI clash of the season.

Possible XI: Rohit Sharma (c), Quinton de Kock(wk), Evin Lewis/ Ishan Kishan, Surya Kumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Rahul Chahar, Anukul Roy/ Jason Behrendorff, Jasprit Bumrah, Lasith Malinga.
