Kolkata Knight Riders finished on the third place last year and all the credit should be given to Dinesh Karthik for this result. The team was not well balanced and had several loopholes, but it was Karthik’s inspirational leadership that took them this far. KKR was blowing hot and cold last year and failed to gain a winning momentum. But during the business end of the tournament, they won four consecutive matches and made it to the playoffs.

Dinesh Karthik had a terrific year with the bat and scored 498 runs at an average of 49.80. He played the role of a finisher and took KKR over the line on almost every possible occasion. He was hitting the ball at a strike rate of 147.77 for his runs. If it wasn’t for his inspirational leadership, KKR would have well ended below the fourth position in the points table.
