aThe CSK skipper, MS Dhoni is having a good outing with the bat in 2019 as the fans have got a plethora of testimonies of the same quite often and something similar happened on Sunday as he pulled Chennai Super Kings (CSK) out of trouble and guided them to a commanding position in the game against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Dhoni played an unbeaten knock of 75 ff 46 balls after coming out to bat with CSK at 27 for 3, taking the team total to 175 for 5 in 20 overs. Earlier, after winning the toss, the RR captain Ajinkya Rahane asked CSK to bat first.

Dhoni was involved in three crucial partnerships with Suresh Raina (61 runs), Dwayne Bravo (56 runs) and Ravindra Jadeja (unbeaten 31 runs) to help CSk post a winning total. His knock was filled with four sixes and as many fours at a phenomenal strike rate of 163 plus. MS has now amassed 107 runs in three matches in this season so far and has continued from where he left last year (455 runs from 16 games). The CSK went on to win the game by 8 runs.

Former India opener Virender Sehwag came up with the wittiest comment while hailing Dhoni’s terrific innings on Twitter. Taking a cue from the CSK’s popular ‘Whistle Podu’ slogan, Sehwag said it was not ‘Whistle Podu’ from Dhoni but ‘Whistle Todu’ and ‘Whistle Fodu’ and conceded that it was something that he enjoyed fully. It was Dhoni’s 21 fifty in the IPL in 178 matches he played so far.

Here is Sehwag’s tweet:

Under Dhoni’s captain, the CSK have started their title defense campaign with a bang in IPL 2019. They defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals in their first two games and were looking strong against the RR as well. Last year, CSk made a comeback in IPl after getting banned for two years before that and straightaway won their third title to match Mumbai Indians’ feat. They are the only team to not lose a game in IPL 2019 so far.
