Currently, defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) for the 12th match of the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). After winning the toss, the CSk skipper, MS Dhoni decided to bat first. But his openers disappointed as both Watson and Ambati Rayud got dismissed inside the powerplay itself. 

During the toss, RR skipper, Ajinkya Rahane decided that they will be making no changes to their squad. While CSK made one change as Harbhajan Singh made way for Mitchell Santner. After the early dismissal of Watson, Rayudu, and Kedar Jadhav, Dhoni made a strong partnership of 61 runs for the fourth wicket with Suresh Raina. 

Even after Raina’s dismissal in the 14th over, CSK were going good. But the Chennai crowd got to see the vintage Dhoni in the final over of the game when he smashed three consecutive sixes on the last three balls of the innings. Earlier in the over, Ravindra Jadeja started the over of Jaydev Unadkat with a six as well which help them to score 28 runs in the final over.

On the fourth ball of the over, Unadkat bowled a slower ball on the middle and MS just waited for the ball to pull it over the backward square for a huge six. Again on the next ball, it was a length ball outside off and Dhoni again waited for it to smashed flat over the long-on boundary.

Then came the final delivery and the Chennai crowd was waiting for the hat-trick of sixes and the CSK skipper didn’t disappoint. Undakat again bowled a length ball on middle, and Dhoni stays on the back foot before muscling a six over long on and he registered his highest IPL score at the Chepaul as CSK finish on 175 for 5.
