IPL 2020: Netizens Going Berserk Ahead Of The Tournament Opener

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 is scheduled to commence on September 19 (Saturday) and fans are ecstatic to finally witness some lively cricketing action after months of uncertainty and COVID-19-induced delays. The loyalties have been well-defined and fans of Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the teams playing the tournament opener in Abu Dhabi, are rooting for their respective franchises with tweets and social media posts.

A Twitter user named, Sohan tweeted: “19:29 an era ended.19:30 a new journey starts,” referring to CSK captain MS Dhoni’s retirement announcement that came at 19:29 on August 15. Others pointed out Dhoni’s will be making a comeback within a minute of retirement.

Prashanth is fatally optimistic as he tweeted: “Rohit will score a duck tonight. He always excels in the second match of a series on most occasions. He is my favourite of all time. However, I just sense that he is gonna score a ZERO tonight”.

Jackartoons has gone on to make some brutal predictions for the Chennai-based franchise. He tweeted: “CSK may win tonight just to get embarassed by the true kings in knockouts.”

Pravin Ambure gave the MI Paltan a video that will be ever cherishable for the franchise as well for all the other IPL fans.
Rohit Sharma fans were quick to recall the back-to-back sixes that the MI skipper smashed off Tim Southee to win India a T20I on their tour to New Zealand earlier this year.

CSK have suffered losses in their last five games to MI but Chennai fans are optimistic nevertheless ahead of IPL 2020.
