The first week of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 has somehow managed to kick-off the tournament with a beautiful note. While Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Delhi Capitals (DC) being the only unbeaten team, only Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has not managed to win a single match. Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have finally managed to get some wins under their belt. The riveting action did not fail in providing great action and we witnessed the incredible moments from the IPL.
As an amalgamation of some of the best batting, bowling, and fielding efforts, let us have a look at five of the best moments of the first week of IPL 2020. (P.S – It was difficult to choose just five).
#1 Faf du Plessis Catches (MI vs CSK)
Faf du Plessis pulled off some brilliant catches during the tournament opener of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 between Mumbai Indians (MI) and CSK. On the first ball of the 15th over, when Tiwary slog-swept a length ball outside off from Jadeja, Faf leaped up to take the catch at the boundary line and landed inside safely as he took a quick step out and back into play and completed the catch.

While on the penultimate ball of the over, Hardik was looking to smack it, but the ball landed straight into Faf’s hand. Jadeja bowled a tossed up delivery as De Plessis did his magic by taking the catch before throwing it up the air and completing the catch.

#2 Hardik Pandya Hit-wicket (KKR vs MI)
Hardik Pandya was getting into his groove in the ongoing game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), he got out in the most bizarre way possible. The MI all-rounder, went deep inside the crease to play a wide yorker from Russell. But as he was bringing his bat down, he ended up clipping the bail with his willow. As soon as the Mumbai Indians star realized it, he started walking back.

#3 Nicholas Pooran Save (RR vs KXIP)
With the pitch offering nothing to the bowlers and the dimensions of the ground being smaller in size, Nicholas Pooran did his side a big favor in the clash. On the third delivery of the 8th over bowled by Murugan Ashwin, Sanju Samson pulled a shorter delivery towards mid-wicket.

The ball was clearly looking to go over the line but Nicholas Pooran had some other ideas. The West Indies star flew himself in the air over the rope to catch the ball. And just before falling outside the boundary, he smartly flicked the ball back into play to save four valuable runs for his side.

#4 MS Dhoni’s Brilliance (CSK vs DC)
Fans got to see some brilliance if MS Dhoni from behind the stumps. Dhoni had won the toss asked Delhi to bat first. CSK made once change in their squad. On the second ball of the 13th over, Dhoni gave the testimony of his brilliance behind the stumps. First, he effected a brilliant stumping of Prithvi Shaw. He did another brilliant job when he took a flying catch of Shreyas Iyer off the bowling of Sam Curran in the 19th over. MS Dhoni was seen flying to his right and takes a superb catch.

#5 Rahul Tewatia 5 Sixes (RR vs KXIP)
After the dismissal of Sanju Samson who was dismissed by Mohammed Shami in the 17th over when the Royals were requiring 63 runs, and Rahul Tetwatia was playing 17 off 21 balls. Cottrell came out to ball the 18th over and Tewatia smashed him for six on each and every deliver batting penultimate one. While all the sixes went towards the leg-side, only one six went over long-off and the equation came down to RR needing 21 off the last two overs.
