Chris Lynn has been one of the most promising batters in International cricket for quite a while now. After warming the bench for MI last year, Lynn finally made his debut for the most successful franchise of IPL in the opening encounter of IPL 2021. He was retained by the MI franchise this year in spite of the fact that he didn’t get a single game to play in the last edition.
Mumbai Indians had been enriched with a star-studded lineup always which meant Lynn had to wait for his moment of play for quite long. Mumbai always started with Quinten de Kock and Rohit Sharma, but this year they had to go with Chris Lynn and De Kock is still undergoing his quarantine period.
Lynn gave Mumbai a brilliant start in the tournament opener by amassing 49 runs off just 35 balls. He missed his half-century just by a run. He looked in solid touch all throughout his innings as if he always belonged to this center stage.

Meanwhile, Krunal Pandya hilariously compared Chris Lynn with Johnny Sins as can be seen in the video footage posted by Mumbai Indians on Twitter. Pandya can be seen cheering loud and clear in the video. “Happy Birthday to our very own Johnny,” said Pandya while Lynn was cutting the cake. Other players can also be seen shouting ‘Johnny’ during the celebration.

The difference between both these teams proved to be the great man AB De Villiers as he played a blinder of 48 runs of just 27 deliveries. Earlier a fiver from Harshal Patel helped RCB restrict Mumbai Indians to a total of 159 runs. Mumbai Indians are set to lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders on 13th April 2021 in Chennai.
