The 12th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 will be played between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Monday. Both teams have had a similar outing in the season so far, losing their opening encounters before coming back to winning ways. Despite Ben Stokes’ untimely injury, RR registered an enthralling win over Delhi Capitals (DC).
While Jaydev Unadkat and Chetan Sakariya have been sensational so far in the last game, Chris Morris and David Miller’s exploits with the bat which has increased the balance of RR. But they want Jos Buttler to fire soon in IPL 2021. RR’s opponents, CSK are also looking like a settled unit in IPL 2021. Although they did come up second-best in their first match, a sparkling opening spell from Deepak Chahar helped the team to get back to the winning ways.

Although the Super Kings look well-equipped in all three departments, they might contemplate including Lungi Ngidi for Dwayne Bravo. Nevertheless, Chennai boasts depth and balance, which will make them favorites for Monday’s game. Although both teams are well-matched on paper, CSKwill holds the edge in the crucial clash, owing to their experience. But Sanju Samson and his men have shown enough promise in the IPL 2021 so far and should keep the three-time champions Chennai Super Kings on their toes.

Lungi Ngidi has finally joined the squad and can be expected to play the game against RR. But it’d be very unlike CSK to make a change right after a victory. Yet, one opening spot could be up for grabs as Ruturaj Gaikwad has been struggling to get going. CSK has Robin Uthappa warming the bench. After Deep Chahar’s bowling performance, CSK will be elated as he can trouble the likes of Sanju Samson.
Probable XI: Ruturaj Gaikwad/Robin Uthappa, Faf du Plessis, Moeen Ali, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Sam Curran, MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar
Rajasthan Royals (RR)
RR will continue to miss the services of Jofra Archer, who has only just been given a go-ahead to resume ‘light training’ after undergoing surgery. However, Ben Stokes’s has become a blessing in disguise for them as David Miller played a match-winning knock against DC. With the ball, Chris Morris holds the aces for RR. Yashasvi Jaiswal is a top-order option, should RR consider tinkering with the line-up that endured a collapse in the previous match.
