On Day 2 of the second leg where Royal Challengers Bangalore took on arch-rivals, Kolkata Knight Riders beat Bangalore by 9 wickets and kept their hopes alive in the tournament. Chasing an easy target of 93 runs, Kolkata Knight Riders secured the victory in just 10 overs.
After this defeat, Royal Challengers Bangalore coach Mike Hesson believes that the team can play a better brand of cricket from here. Mike Hesson on Royal Challengers Bangalore’s YouTube channel says Virat Kohli is desperate to perform, “Look, there are some times when our batsmen look to do that to get some extra opportunity. Virat is desperate to do well, he likes one-on-one sessions to get his confidence and find his rhythm. It looks like he has found it,” said Hesson.

Just a while back Virat Kohli hinted that he might quit the captaincy after the tournament but he should take this decision so that he can play as a batsman at his best. Royal Challengers Bangalore will next take on Chennai Super Kings on Friday.
“I think it was actually to get any form of distraction out early. We talked about making that announcement as soon as possible really, all the players were aware of it. It has not impacted our performance against KKR. We were not sharp with the bat, we lost wickets. But I am confident that this group will turn around pretty quickly,” Mike Henson further added in his press conference.
What are the chances of Royal Challengers Bangalore in the tournament to qualify for the playoffs?
Royal Challengers Bangalore may face difficulties from here where they will have to win 3 more matches from their remaining 6 matches if they want to qualify without a net run rate issue.
