Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore are facing each other in the 52nd match of the Indian Premier League 2021 in Abu Dhabi. RCB are eyeing to win the game and finish in the top-two in the points table.
Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to bowl first, keeping the last game between Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals at the venue. Both teams fielded an unchanged playing XI.

Abhishek Sharma was sent in to open with Jason Roy. He played few boundary strokes but his innings lasted only 10 balls as he scored 13 runs before George Garton dismissed him. Kane Williamson looked in fine touch when he came out to bat. SRH scored 50 runs inside the powerplay at the cost of one wicket.
Williamson and Roy added 70 runs for the second wicket before the former got out. Priyam Garg came in the middle to partner Roy. Daniel Christian dismissed both of them in the 15th over. SRH lost the plot from there on and managed to score only 36 runs in the last six overs. They posted 141/7 in 20 overs. Harshal Patel bagged three wickets in his spell.
In response, Virat Kohli started the chase with a boundary on the first ball of the innings but got out on the last ball of the over. Daniel Christian walked out to bat at 3 but his innings lasted only four balls. Srikar Bharat also failed to impress and got out after scoring just 12 runs as RCB were in a spot of bother at 38/3 in 7 overs.
Glenn Maxwell walked out in the middle and started playing his aggressive shots. He scored sixes off Rashid Khan and didn’t let him settle. Devdutt Padikkal, on the other end, was playing a slow knock which built the required run rate pressure.

Padikkal asked Maxwell for a non-existing single and Kane Williamson hit the bull’s eye to run Maxwell out for 40. This changed the momentum of the game. Padikkal got out after scoring 41 runs in 52 balls.
AB de Villiers had to do the finishing job for RCB as they were required 13 runs off the last six balls. ABD tried his best but couldn’t take RCB over the line and fell four runs short of the target. This defeat confirms CSK and DC will finish in the top two in the points table.

Only the second time in #IPL that @ABdeVilliers17 has remained Not Out in an unsuccessful chase.
First was vs MI in 2019, scored 70* (41) chasing 188 but #RCB lost by 6 runs. #RCBvSRH

#RCB would need to beat #DelhiCapitals by around 113 runs and require #PBKS to beat #CSK by the same margin to finish in the top two.#RCBvSRH

You don’t see this very often – with someone like de Villiers at the crease you expect 13 off the last 6 a cakewalk! Well bowled @BhuviOfficial #SRHvsRCB

I get they’ve qualified, but how on earth does RCB always leave AB to try and preform miracles
