Kolkata Knight Riders spin magician Sunil Narine praised Varun Chakraborty and called him a better bowler of a younger generation. “Getting Rohit out in any form of cricket is good; he is a key wicket for Mumbai,” said Narine. “I’m coming off a good amount of cricket in the CPL and The Hundred. It’s getting better and better. It has taken me a while with this new action and I have put in a lot of work into it,” he added.

“I wouldn’t say this pitch was sticky. It was flat but not as flat as last year. My batting depends on what my team requires. If they want to go at the top or the end, I’ll do it,” said Narine.

In the game against MI, Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and invited Mumbai Indians to bat first where after a good start the team could manage only 155 runs in their allotted 20 overs. While maintaining the last victory momentum Kolkata Knight Riders needed a win at all costs to keep their Playoffs hopes alive, which Knight Riders achieved in just 15.1 overs and won by 7 wickets.
