T20 WC: Watch: Akeal Hosein Takes Flying One-handed Catch To Dismiss Liam Livingstone

The Super 12 round of the T20 World Cup 2021 has started with Australia and South Africa’s game. Now, England and West Indies are facing each other in the repeat of T20 WC 2016’s final which West Indies won.

Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to bowl first. David Willy, Tom Curran, Sam Billings and Mark Wood are sitting out for England. West Indies left out Hayden Walsh, Oshane Thomas, Roston Chase and Andre Fletcher.

England bowlers bowled brilliantly and chipped regular wickets. West Indies didn’t get any breathing space and got collapsed for 55 runs in just 14 overs.

In response, England started their chase with confidence. Jason Roy got out for 11 by Ravi Rampaul with England having 21 runs on the board. Jonny Bairstow followed him back in the pavilion soon. Moeen Ali got run out after a mix-up in the middle.

Liam Livingstone walked out to bat in the middle with England needing another 20 runs to win the match. Akeal Hosein bowled a good delivery to Livingstone, who gave a leading edge back towards the bowler. Hosein put a full-length dive and grabbed the catch with his one hand and dismiss Livingstone for 1.

The catch was jaw-dropping and it took several replays for the umpire to come up with a decision.

England batted sensibly from there on and won the game by six wickets with 70 balls to spare.

Earlier, England bowlers were on the mark from the word go. They kept chipping regular wickets as West Indies lost their top-four inside the powerplay. With a lot of batting yet to come, England didn’t drop down their guard.

Adil Rashid bowled a brilliant spell and took four wickets for two runs in just 2.2 overs. West Indies registered their second-lowest total in the history of T20Is as they got out for just 55 runs in their campaign opener of the T20 World Cup 2021 in Dubai.
