CSK scored 136/5 in 20 overs after batting first.

Chasing the target, Prithvi Shaw got out early after scoring 18 runs in 12 balls. Shikhar Dhawan, however, wasn’t bothered by this and started scoring boundaries from the word go but didn’t get assistance from his teammates.

Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant and debutant Ripal Patel spent time in the middle but couldn’t stick around for long. Ravichandran Ashwin came to bat at number 6, ahead of Shimron Hetmyer. Ashwin helped DC to win the last game with the bat but he couldn’t replicate the same against CSK.

Shardul Thakur came to bowl the 15th over and clean bowled Ashwin on the first ball. Hetmyer walked out to accompany well-set Dhawan, who overturned a DRS call on the third ball of the over against Shardul. However, he got out on the last ball of the over and Thakur turned the match on its head.
