Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has recently shared the five positives from the Chennai Super Kings tournament despite their dismal show in the IPL 2022 season. They have finished ninth on the points table with just four wins in 14 games after a defeat in their last game against the Rajasthan Royals as well. CSK had a rather forgettable total since the beginning despite them doing well in the second half of the tournament as well.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, who was in sublime form last year, failed to live up to the expectations this season as well and he could manage only 368 runs at the top of the order too as well. Veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja also went through a rough patch and he wasn’t at his best in terms of captaincy as well as he was named captain of this season. But after 8 games, he stepped down. Meanwhile, the injury of their key pacer Deepak Chahar cost them whereas Ambati Rayudu and Shivam Dube had an on and off-season as well which did not help CSK too.

However, they have quite a few positives too to take it forward as they tried a lot of seamers who were impressive too. Moreover, MS Dhoni’s batting form was a big plus for them and he had already confirmed playing in the next IPL season as well which will be a great boost to the team.

Meanwhile, Irfan Pathan shared an Instagram video while congratulating Rajasthan Royals for finishing in the top two of the points table as it will give them an extra opportunity to make the finals as well. He later picked five positives from the CSK set-up to be Maheesh Theekshana, Mukesh Choudhary, Simarjeet Singh, Matheesha Pathirana and Devon Conway as well. It will be interesting to see how CSK will perform in the upcoming season.

“What positives can CSK take for the next season??,” Pathan captioned the video on Instagram.
