Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be locking horns with each other in the 50th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday (May 5). Both DC and SRH had suffered losses ahead of this game with Rishabh Pant and his men suffering a 6-run loss against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Kane Williamson and his men suffering a 13-run win over struggling Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their recent outing.

Seventh-placed DC has so far won 4 out of the 9 matches they have played. On the other hand, fourth-placed SRH has managed to win 5 out of the 9 games they have played so far in the tournament. This will be DC’s first meeting with SRH this season, but the two sides have clashed many times before in the IPL.

It will also meet for the first time at the venue where both teams have the same number of wins. In the 20 meetings between the two sides in IPL so far, SRH is leading the charts 11-9 against DC in the head-to-head battles. In the last 5 meetings, however, it’s 3-2 in favor of DC, who also won via super over last season.

Delhi Capitals (DC)

Umran Malik’s fierce pace against some of DC’s power-hitters will be expected to produce an exciting cricket, but another of those key battles early up would be between their powerplay enforcer- Prithvi Shaw – against Bhuvneshwar Kumar. He’s been dismissed twice and scores at just run-a-ball against Bhuvneshwar.

Kuldeep Yadav has been the most consistent performer for Delhi, winning the Man of the Match award in all their four wins, and for SRH to put pressure on the spinner, he will be a good option against Rahul Tripathi. The batter has a strike rate of 242 against Kuldeep although he’s also been dismissed once. The injury to Washington Sundar has put his participation in eth game in some serious doubt and SRH will be hard-pressed for someone to replace him.
