The sixth match of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (RCB) at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Royal Challengers Bangalore will be squaring off against Kolkata Knight Riders for the first time in the sixth match of this season of the 15th edition of the IPL.
RCB played their first game of the season against Punjab King (PBKS) and suffered a loss by 5 wickets despite scoring more than 200 runs. Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli smashed 88 runs and 41 runs respectively for RCB in that game as they lost just two wickets. On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders played their first game of the season against Chennai Super Kings where they won the game by 6 wickets.

Ajinkya Rahane scored 44 runs while Umesh Yadav scalped a couple of wickets for Kolkata Knight Riders in that game. These two teams have met a total of 30 times in the IPL before, where Royal Challengers Bangalore won 13 games while KKR has managed to register wins in 17 matches.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)
RCB might seek a disruptive force through the middle-order if they manage to score at a brisk pace against spinners post the PowerPlay. David Willey, who bats up the order in The Hundred and in the T20 Blast for Northamptonshire and who was padded up early last game, a likely outlet. Interestingly, Kohli himself had a markedly proactive approach to spin during the game against PBKS, hitting two sixes and scoring at a strike rate of 142.11 against the spinners.
Probable XI: Faf du Plessis (c), Anuj Rawat, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Sherfane Rutherford, Wanindu Hasaranga, David Willey, Harshal Patel, Shahbaz Ahmed, Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)
RCB’s openers Faf du Plessis and Anuj Rawat found it difficult to tackle the early swing and seam against PBKS and began rather sedately. It is what KKR will hope Umesh Yadav, their designated PowerPlay enforcer, can exploit for a second game running.
Probable XI: Venkatesh Iyer, Ajinkya Rahane, Nitish Rana, Shreyas Iyer (c), Sam Billings, Andre Russell, Sheldon Jackson (wk), Sunil Narine, Shivam Mavi, Umesh Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy
