The Indian Premier League (IPL) mega-auction for the upcoming edition of 2022 has started in Bengaluru and it will be engrossing to see how each of the teams finally shapes up. Here is what the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are up to in the auctions.

Day 1

#1 Washington Sundar – ₹8.75 Crores

Washington Sundar went under the hammer in the IPL 2022 mega auction and he ignited a bidding war between Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings. And Delhi Capitals enter the race to sign Sundar. And Gujarat Titans have decided to back down. Out of the blue, Sunrisers Hyderabad decides to make a bid. Eventually, SRH bought their first player was Washington Sundar for INR 8.75 crore.

#2 Nicholas Pooran – ₹10.75 Crores

The flamboyant wicketkeeper batter, Nicholas Pooranw was expected to fetch some high numbers in IPL 2022 mega auction. SRH and Chennai Super Kings straightaway engage in a bidding war with KKR joining in later. Pooran has breached the 10 crore mark which was unexpected and eventually was bought by SRH for ₹10.75 crores.

#3 T Natarajan – ₹4 Crores

The left-arm fast bowler, T Natarajan went under the hammer. Sunrisers Hyderabad was looking good to buy him from the very start, but Gujarat Titans showed keen interest in him as well. In the end, SRH bought the services of T Natarajan for ₹4 Crores.

#4  Bhuvneshwar Kumar – ₹4.2 Crores

The veteran Indian fast bowler, Bhuvnesh Kumar went under the hammer in IPL 2022 mega auction. Earlier, there was no bid for him but Rajasthan Royals started biding alongside Mumbai Indians. Later in the bidding racer, Lucknow Super Giant had a bidding war with SRH, and eventually, the latter franchise re-gained Bhuvneshwar for ₹4.2 crores.

#5 Priyam Garg – ₹2.6 Crores

Priyam Garg scored his maiden IPL fifty

The former India Under-19 skipper, Priyam Garg went under the hammer in IPL 2022 auction and Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to buy him for his base price of ₹20 Lakhs.

#5 Rahul Tripathi – ₹8.5 Crores

The talented Indian batter, Rahul Tripathi has attracted bids from various franchises. An intense bidding war went on between KKR and CSK. Sunrisers Hyderabad joined the battle and Rahul Tripathi got the jackpot as SRH bought him for as many as ₹8.5 Crore.

#5 Abhishek Sharma – ₹6.5 Crores

The young southpaw all-rounder, Abhishek Sharma went under the hammer in IPL 2022 meg-auction with a bidding war between, Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad. Gujarat Titans also have joined the race to snatch the player. SRH eventually re-gained Abhishek Sharma for a whopping ₹6.5 Crores.

#6 Kartik Tyagi – ₹6.5 Crores

The talented fast bowler, Kartik Tyagi was up for grabs in the IPL 2022 mega-auction and he was expected to grab some attention. Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings fought hard for the young fast bowler. SRH also joined the party to sign Kartik Tyagi. Eventually, Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to buy the services of Kartik Tyagi for ₹4 Crores.

#7 Shreyas Gopal – ₹75 Lakhs

Rajasthan Royals had no hesitation in getting their spinner back with the opening bid. However, Sunrisers Hyderabad had battled it hard against the Royals for Shreyas Gopal.= and managed to get the leggies for just ₹75 Lakhs.

#7 J Suchith – ₹20 Lakhs

Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to get back the services of J Suchith for the opening bid of ₹20 Laksh.
