Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be hosting Rajasthan Royals (RC) in the 17th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai. Both teams have played three games in the ongoing season so far. Chennai Super Kings won two of their three games so far, and are placed fifth on the points table with a tally of 4 points and a net run rate of +0.356.
On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals have also managed to win a couple of games out of their three matches so far, and are placed second on the points table with a tally of 4 points and a net run rate of +2.067. Chennai Super Kings are coming on the back of a 7-wicket win against the Mumbai Indians in their last outing while Rajasthan Royals defeated Delhi Capitals by 57 runs in their previous encounter.

These two teams have played 27 matches against each other in the history of IPL so far where both CSK managed to win 15 matches while RR won the remaining 12 games. An exciting contest is anticipated here between these two sides once again on Wednesday.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana have joined the squad ahead of the game. The former will be expected to feature in the XI straightaway. Ben Stokes and Deepak Chahar are set to remain on the sidelines but CSK will be boosted by Moeen Ali’s availability. Ruturaj Gaikwad’s record against Trent Boult doesn’t ooze confidence as he has been dismissed by the New Zealand seamer thrice in the space of 21 deliveries. CSK will have to ensure Boult’s early threat is countered by his New Zealand teammate Devon Conway.
Probable XI: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Ajinkya Rahane, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni (C & WK), Mitchell Santner, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Maheesh Theekshana, Tushar Deshpande
Rajasthan Royals (RR)
CSK has the worst economy rate (11.44) in the powerplay this season while bowling. The royals have the ideal batter up top to take full toll of that in the form of Yashasvi Jaiswal. The young left-hander, quite incredibly, is striking close to 200 in the powerplay this season and that phase could well be the difference-maker if the track turns out to be slow.
Probable XI: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson (C & WK), Dhruv Jurel/Devdutt Padikkal, Shimron Hetmyer, Riyan Parag, Jason Holder, R Ashwin, M Ashwin, Trent Boult, Yuzvendra Chahal
Fantasy XI Suggestion 1:
Jos Butler, Sanju Samson, Devon Conway, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal (vc), Shimron Hetmyer, Moeen Ali (c), Ravindra Jadeja, Mitchell Santner, Trent Boult, Yuzvendra Chahal
Fantasy XI Suggestion 2:
Jos Butler, Sanju Samson, Devon Conway, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yashasvi Jaiswal (c), Shimron Hetmyer, Ajinkya Rahane, Moeen Ali, Ravindra Jadeja (vc), Trent Boult, Yuzvendra Chahal
