The IPL 2026 season will be remembered as one of the most batting-dominated editions in the tournament’s history. With aggressive opening batters redefining T20 cricket and teams consistently posting imposing totals, the campaign showcased a new era of fearless strokeplay. While favourable batting conditions played a role, several bowlers still stood out with exceptional performances. As the season concluded with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeating the Gujarat Titans in the final, a number of players stood out to earn places in the IPL 2026 Team of the Tournament.

At the top of the order, Rajasthan Royals sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was impossible to ignore. The 15-year-old wonderkid produced a record-breaking campaign, scoring 776 runs in 16 matches at a stunning strike rate of 237.30. His tally of 72 sixes and Orange Cap-winning season made him the standout performer of IPL 2026.

Alongside him is Gujarat Titans opener Sai Sudharsan, whose consistency was unmatched. The left-hander accumulated 722 runs in 17 matches, including a century and eight half-centuries, providing Gujarat with strong starts throughout the season.

Virat Kohli takes the No. 3 position after another masterclass in consistency and big-match temperament. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru star scored 675 runs in 16 matches and capped off the season with an unbeaten 75 in the final, earning the Player of the Match award as RCB secured a second consecutive title.

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Heinrich Klaasen occupies the No. 4 spot after a historic season. The South African smashed 624 runs and became the first player in IPL history to score more than 600 runs in a season while batting at No. 4 or lower. RCB captain Rajat Patidar slots in at No. 5 and also leads the side. Patidar scored 501 runs and hammered 42 sixes while guiding Bengaluru to back-to-back championships with calm and effective leadership.

The all-rounder positions are held by Krunal Pandya and Rashid Khan. Krunal contributed 226 runs and 14 wickets, proving invaluable in both departments for RCB. Rashid, meanwhile, remained the most effective spinner in the tournament, claiming 19 wickets and consistently delivering under pressure.

The pace attack features Jofra Archer, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kagiso Rabada, and Rasikh Salam Dar. Archer led the Rajasthan Royals’ bowling unit with 25 wickets and played a key role in their run to Qualifier 2. Bhuvneshwar finished with 28 wickets and was instrumental in RCB’s title-winning campaign. Purple Cap winner Kagiso Rabada topped the wicket charts with 29 wickets, including an impressive 20 dismissals in the powerplay. Rasikh Salam Dar emerged as one of the breakout stars of the season, taking 19 wickets in just 12 matches and producing a match-defining spell of 3/27 in the final.

Among the impact substitutes, Ishan Kishan, Shubman Gill, and Prince Yadav were unfortunate to miss out on the starting XI despite excellent campaigns. Kishan scored 602 runs for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Gill amassed 732 runs for Gujarat Titans, while Prince Yadav impressed with 16 wickets for Lucknow Super Giants. This XI perfectly reflects an IPL season dominated by explosive batting, fearless young talent, experienced match-winners, and a handful of bowlers who thrived despite increasingly batter-friendly conditions.
