The Board of Control for Cricket in India has decided to reschedule domestic T20 tournament Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and T20 Zinal League keeping IPL auction dates in mind, which will take place on January 27-28.

The youngsters will be beneficial with this decision as they will get proper chance to show their talent ahead of the biggest auction of the Indian Premier League in this decade.

BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary said in a statement “In view of the IPL Player Auction which is scheduled from 27-28 January 2018, there has been a change of schedule for the domestic tournaments.”

He further added “The said changes are being done so that the T20 Zonal League and Syed Mushtaq Ali Knock out (except the final match) is held before the IPL player Auction which will enable the domestic players to showcase their talent and will also be beneficial for the franchises during the player auction to build their teams.”

Earlier, the Zonal League was expected to be played from 21-29 January, but now it has shifted to 8-16 January. Meanwhile, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will now take place from January 21 to 27, instead of 4-10 February.

The venues will remain same for all the matches.
