With the conclusion of the league matches of IPL 2017, the top four teams have finally qualified for the playoffs. The first qualifier match is being played between Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiant, while the first eliminator will be played between the defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Kolkata Knight Riders on 18th May.
During the league stage, we saw some tremendous batting performances. The table-toppers Mumbai Indians were by far the best all-around team in the ongoing season of IPL with most of their players clicking together as a team. 1. Chris Lynn
The Queensland batsman started this season of IPL with a bang. Durin KKR’s first match of the season against Gujarat Lions at the Saurashtra Cricket Stadium, he ran through the bowlers of the home team. The viewers were treated to some ferocious display of strokeplay by the brilliant batsman as KKR chased down the rigorous target of 184 with more than 5 overs left.
Lynn shared an unbeaten partnership of 184 runs with the skipper Gautam Gambhir as Kolkata won with all 10 wickets in hand. Lynn went insane from the rise and kept disrupting the inexperienced GL bowlers to different parts of the ground. He scored 93 runs with the help of 6 fours and 8 sixes and it was demoralizing display for the Rajkot crowd. This innings set the tone for KKR for the remaining matches.
