During the 27th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at Pune, Chennai Super Kings’ Ambati Rayudu and Suresh Raina broke the shackles after the Super Kings got off to a slow start.

Rohit Sharma, captain of Mumbai Indians, won the toss and chose to field. Mumbai Indians made two changes to their playing eleven, bringing in JP Duminy and Ben Cutting in place of Kieron Pollard and Mustafizur Rahman. On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings fielded an unchanged playing eleven.

Rayudu is enjoying a stellar IPL season.

Ambati Rayudu and Shane Watson started on a slower note as the opposition’s bowlers did not let them get off to a flyer. In the first four overs, the Super Kings had scored 24-0.

To add to their woes in the powerplay was the wicket of Watson. The former Australian all-rounder got out on the second delivery of the following over after he unsuccessfully slogged a Krunal Pandya delivery to Mayank Markande at square leg.

However, on the next ball, Rayudu flicked a Krunal Pandya delivery with utmost ease over deep midwicket for a six. Suresh Raina, who came in to bat at No. 3, sat down on one knee to hit the last ball of the over for a slog sweep over the boundary. Despite losing Watson, Chennai accumulated 15 runs in the over.
