During the 26th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Delhi Daredevils (DD) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Delhi, Kolkata Knight Riders’ Shivam Mavi put a halt to Colin Munro’s innings at a time when Munro was looking set to play an innings of significant impact.

Dinesh Karthik, captain of Kolkata Knight Riders, had won the toss and chose to field. The Knight Riders included Mitchell Johnson into the playing eleven in place of Tom Curran. Daredevils, on the other hand, dropped their former captain in Gautam Gambhir in place of Colin Munro. Vijay Shankar was included for Daniel Christian.

Shivam Mavi took the first wicket for his team.

Prithvi Shaw and Colin Munro opened the batting for the Daredevils. The duo started the innings on a much required positive note, scoring 57-0 in the powerplay. Munro per se took on the opposition bowlers right from the word go.

Just when he was expected to carry forward the momentum, a Shivam Mavi 143 km/h yorker saw him walking back to the pavilion. It happened on the last ball of the seventh over when Munro unsuccessfully tried to drive a full delivery but ended up losing his stumps. He ended up scoring 33 (18) with the help of four fours and two sixes.

Mavi was so furious after the wicket that he gave a send-off to Munro with a lot of cuss words in Hindi.
