However, the SRH has revealed great news for its fans now as Williamson is set to join the team on March 22 only one day ahead of the start of the tournament along with his teammate Martin Guptill. Both of them will be flying to India after the New Zealand Cricket awards. This must’ve definitely relieved the fans of the SRH and the team as well as the Kiwi skipper was the highest run-getter last season.

Here’s what SRH tweeted:

Meanwhile, the Sunrisers are scheduled to commence this season against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens on Sunday. They have got a timely massive boost as Kane Williamson will be seen batting at the top of the order for the team. Though it remains to be seen if he will straight away play the game after traveling all the way from New Zealand.

Williamson was in the form of his life last year and deservedly won the Orange Cap. But the Kiwi skipper would be regretting the fact that he wasn’t able to win the tournament as the SRH lost to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the final. It will be interesting to see if Williamson will be able to replicate the similar form even this season.
