Kane Williamson’s Injury Keeps Him Off The Field!

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson suffered a shoulder injury during the ongoing test match played between New Zealand and Bangladesh at Wellington. On the 3rd day of the match, Williamson was fielding at the gully position and trying to stop the ball he fallen down and picked the unexpected injury.

He also came to bat later that evening after the Tom Latham was dismissed at the end of the fifth over, Williamson remained unbeaten on 10 before the Day was washed away by rain and covers were called off. Kane walked to bat on Day 4 and along with Ross Taylor where they created 172 run partnership for the 3rd wicket before Williamson was caught by Taijul Islam for 74 runs.

After going back to Pavilion he was taken to the Hospital for MRI scans and the official account of New Zealand on Twitter tweeted about Williamson’s injury announcing that the Skipper won’t be available on the field and will be resting. Tim Southee the vice-captain of the National team was given the charge to lead the team.

Later Ross Taylor went on to smash his third test double-ton, New Zealand finished the second innings with the lead of 221 runs where they declared their innings after posting a total of 432/6 where Henry Nicholls also scored a 107 to boost the lead for the Black Caps.

Bangladesh was back to bat for the second innings and they lost their strike batsman Tamim Iqbal who was bowled by Trent Boult right after the next ball of the innings before being struck for a boundary on the first ball. At the end of Day 3, Bangladesh’s scoreboard seemed like 80/3 with still trailing 141 runs behind New Zealand.

New Zealand will have to get the remaining wickets as early in tomorrow’s early session to win the match and seal the series, for Bangladesh, there is no chance of winning all they will be doing is to save the match by sticking on the pitch till the end of the day.
