IPL 2019: Warne Thinks Samson Can Be The Player Of The Tournament!

The IPL tournament is just 11 days away to start the 12th edition of the richest cricket league in the world. The Royal Challengers Bangalore which has one of the craziest fans across the globe will be taking on the defending Champions Chennai Super Kings in the IPL opener at M.A Chidambaram Stadium on March 23.

Rajasthan Royals who came back along with CSK last season serving their 2-years ban in the spot-fixing finished fourth in the league after they were knocked out by Kolkata Knight Riders in the Eliminator Stage losing the match by 25 runs.

Shane Warne who had played the role of the mentor for the same franchise where he played the first 4 seasons and also under his captaincy the Royals lifted the Inaugural IPL trophy in 2008. The coming season the veteran spinner will be seen in a different role for the franchise as he will be in charge as the brand ambassador of Rajasthan Royals.

On Sunday Warne posted a picture on his official Instagram account wearing the Royals uniform and expressed himself very happy coming in the new position and also said that just two weeks are left for their first game to start with against Kings XI Punjab on March 25 at home Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Warne showed his confidence in the team saying ” I believe with the squad the boys have put together” and also added that “we are favorites to win the IPL this year, so get on the boys in pink.”

Warne also stated that he thinks Sanju Samson will be the player of the tournament this year. Samson has been playing with Royals for 4 seasons and when they were off the league he played for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals), he has scored 1190 runs for Rajasthan Royals in 4 seasons and has been the most classic batsman in that side.
