The Indian cricket team locked horns with the Ireland team for the first T20I of the 2-match series in Dublin on Wednesday and after winning the toss, the Irish skipper Gary Wilson elected to bowl, reasoning that in this venue its difficult for the teams to defend the total. However, the Indian scoreline is suggesting that Wilson’s decision became all wrong as the Indian openers gave a dream starts by registering an opening partnership of 150+.
Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan opened the innings for India and they amassed 59 runs in the powerplay. They went on to make the partnership of 160 runs, its India’s second highest partnership for any wicket.

India finished the innings with 208/5 with Sharma missing the chance to score his third T20I century as he was clean bowled by Chase in the final over.
Coming in to chase total Ireland was down to 43/1 in the powerplay. However, in the 13th over of the innings, Yuzvendra Chahal was smashed for a huge six over long-on by the Irish veteran batsman Kevin O’Brien, but he took the revenge by dismissing him on the third bowl of the over and on the following bowl he also dismissed Wilson, the Irish captain.

The first ball was on a length and outside off, tossed up liberally, Kevin lines it up, presses forward and smokes it straight over Chahal’s head like a boss. but on the third ball, O’Brien aims to clear the boundary again. Shikhar Dhawan runs across to his right from wide long-off and snaffles this. The ball was tossed up, full outside off, breaks away further, Kevin lifts it down the ground but gets more height as opposed to distance.

Wilson’s dismissal brought, two in two for Chahal, Wilson dances down the track, Chahal held this leg break back. It dips sharply and spins away as Wilson is left overbalanced. He swings for the hills and just collects fresh air.
