Former India all-rounder, Irfan Pathan has come in support of his wife after the criticism he has received after an image of his wife, Safa Baig, surfaced on social media. In the picture, Baig, who married the former cricketer in February 2016, has blurred some part of her face. He received plenty of flak and trolling from the netizens for not allowing his wife to put the picture of her complete face.
However, in his recent tweet, Irfan Pathan went on to reveal that it was his wife’s choice to blur the photo. Teh Baroda all-rounder also assured the fans that he has given freedom to his wife by stating, “I’m her mate not her master.” The duo has a son, named Imran Khan Pathan, who Baig gave birth in December 2016.

Irfan Pathan and his family have played their part in supporting the people fight a hard battle against the deadly second wave of the Covid-19. As the country grapples with the second wave of the virus, the former all-rounder decided to donate all the money earned from the social media campaigns to charity.
Irfan and his elder brother, Yusuf Pathan donated food and raw materials and helped as many as 90,000 families to date. Also, the Pathan Cricket Academy provided free meals to plagued people in South Delhi. They have come forward and distributed food packets, oxygen cylinders, ventilators, oxygen concentrators. Their father, Mehmood Khan Pathan has been providing food to the COVID-19 patients in Baroda through his trusts.

Both Irfan and Yusuf had earlier got infected with the covid-19 virus while playing in the Road Safety World Series in Raipur in March, and have recovered from it. The brothers announced their covid-19 positive reports, after the skipper of the team, Sachin Tendulkar, and middle-order batsman Subramaniam Badrinath also confirmed their positive covid-19 results.
