Former Indian all-rounder, Irfan Pathan engaged in a funny banter on Twitter with world Cup-winning all-rounder, Yuvraj Singh on Wednesday over former’s ‘Ben Stokes’ analogy tweet. Whatever the format, whatever the circumstances, Stokes has proven to be one of the most versatile cricketers of modern-day cricket. The latest masterclass by the English all-rounder has taken the Test series against the West Indies to a decider.
Stokes came out with useful contributions with bat and ball to lead England to a 113-run win late on the final day of the second Test, tying the three-match series at 1-1. Pathan, who looked impressed with England all-rounder’s heroics, tweeted that Team India can become unbeatable if they had an all-rounder like Stokes.

Meanwhile, India’s first-choice all-rounder Hardik Pandya played his last international match during the T20Is against South Africa in September last year after which he underwent back surgery in October. The 26-year-old’s back complaint had kept him in and out of the national team since mid-2018.

Yuvraj was quick to notice Irfan’s tweet and poked fun at his former teammate as he replied: “Are you saying we don’t have an all-rounder who’s a match-winner?”

Notably, Yuvraj, who decided to hang his boots from international cricket in 2019, was Man of the Tournament during India’s World Cup-winning campaign in 2011, courtesy his all-round heroics. Yuvraj also showered praises Irfan for his contribution to the Indian team during his playing days. Irfan, who started his international career as a seamer, but he was often seen batting top of the order for the Men in Blue on a few occasions too.
