The defending champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are struggling to reach the layoffs of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The Chennai-based team have managed to scalp only 2 victories so far in the season, having played 8 matches. They are placed at the second last position in the points table. Just a couple of days before the start of the season, MS Dhoni decided to hand over the captaincy of the side to Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

The wicket-keeper led the team in every season that the franchise featured in before IPL 2022. Now after the disappointing performance of the side, The Indian all-rounder has decided to get rid of the captaincy burden and the Ranchi-born cricketer has officially accepted the role once again. Dhoni will lead Chennai for the remainder of the season.

The decision was taken by Ravindra Jadeja himself as he thought the pressure of captaincy was affecting his game. The left-hander has rarely managed to make an impact this season, both with the bat and the ball in the hand.

Irfan Pathan, the former Indian all-rounder made a tweet on the same day when the news officially came out. The all-rounder mentioned Ravindra Jadeja in the tweet in the context of the captaincy switch. “I really Feel for Ravindra Jadeja. Let’s hope it doesn’t affect him as a cricketer in a negative way.”

Irfan Pathan raised a concern over the sudden switch in a skeptical way. He thinks the decision might affect Ravindra Jadeja’s performance in the remainder of the season. However, The fans and the social media users were not impressed with the tweet of the former player.
