During the third T20I between Bangladesh and West Indies, an unusual incident unfolded involving Jaker Ali, who was initially given out but was later called back to resume his innings. The drama occurred in the 15th over of Bangladesh’s innings when Jaker and Shamim Hossain found themselves entangled in a chaotic mix-up while attempting a run.
Jaker played a shot towards square leg and, after completing a single, turned back for a second run. However, Shamim sent him back, leaving Jaker stranded mid-pitch. Believing he had failed to make his ground at the striker’s end, Jaker began his walk back to the pavilion in visible frustration.
Replays later revealed that Jaker had successfully grounded his bat inside the popping crease, while Shamim’s bat was in the air. This reversal meant that Jaker was safe, and Shamim had to depart instead.

Jaker capitalized on his second chance brilliantly, delivering a match-defining innings. He smashed an unbeaten 72 off just 41 balls, including three boundaries and six towering sixes, steering Bangladesh to an imposing total of 189 for seven. Earlier, opener Parvez Hossain Emon laid the foundation with a brisk 39 off 21 balls.
