Bumrah And Harshal Return To Indian Squad For T20 WC, Shami Is back For Home Series

On Monday, the BCCI has announced the much-awaited Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022.  are set for an all-important meeting on Monday. scheduled to be played in Australia from October 16 to November 13. Rohit Sharma will lead the squad as men in blue will be traveling with 4 stand-by players for the marque event.

Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel have made a comeback to the Indian team, having missed out on the Asia Cup with a side strain. Arshdeep Singh and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are the other two fast bowlers in the 15-member squad, along with the all-rounder Hardik Pandya. The squad was, however, missing all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who went through surgery last week after getting injured during the Asia Cup.

R Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Axar Patel are the specialist spinners, with the latter seeming to have replaced Jadeja in the squad. The batting line-up is along expected lines with captain Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, and Dinesh Karthik all included.

BCCI also finalized the T20I squads for the three-match series against Australia and South Africa. They have named 16-man squads for the upcoming home series in September-October. The announcement came minutes after India announced a 15-man squad for the T20 World Cup in Australia, starting October 22.

Pacers Mohammed Shami and Deepak Chahar, who was named as part of 4 standby players for the T20 World Cup, are part of the T20I series against South Africa and Australia.
