Jasprit Bumrah carved his name into cricketing history on Day 2 of the third Test at Lord’s, claiming a magnificent five-wicket haul to earn a coveted spot on the Lord’s honours board. The Indian pace spearhead was instrumental in bundling England out for 387, turning the tide in India’s favour in this tightly contested series.

Having picked up just one wicket—Harry Brook—on Day 1, Bumrah came alive on the second morning. He dismantled England’s middle and lower order with trademark precision, accounting for key wickets including Ben Stokes, Joe Root, Chris Woakes, and Jofra Archer. His final figures of 5 for 74 reaffirmed why he remains one of the most dangerous red-ball bowlers in the world.

Bumrah was well supported by Mohammed Siraj and young pacer Nitish Kumar Reddy. Siraj removed half-centurions Jamie Smith (51) and Brydon Carse (56), while Reddy made early inroads by dismissing both English openers, Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett. Ravindra Jadeja chipped in with the wicket of Ollie Pope, who looked threatening with a 44-run knock.

In response, England struck back as Jofra Archer marked his Test return by dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal for 13. Stokes then sent Karun Nair packing for 40, and Brydon Carse claimed the prized wicket of Shubman Gill for 16. Despite the setbacks, KL Rahul (53*) and Rishabh Pant (19*) held firm, guiding India to 145/3 at stumps.
