Just when the Indian fans got worried that Team India will again fail to wrap-up the ‘lower order’ wall against Australia in the first Test in Adelaide, Jasprit Bumrah came up with completely different intentions. The bowler, who has a knack of surprising most of the batsmen with his sudden and sharp inswingers, produced yet another gem in the first over after taking the second new ball to get rid of Pat Cummins, who had a brain-fade movement and gave his team the all-needed seventh wicket to continue having the upper edge.
Bumrah, who had just one wicket in the morning, bowled a huge inswinger at Cummins and the later didn’t offer any shot which caught his legs, apparently outside the line of the wicket. Umpire Nigel Llong gave the verdict in favor of India but Cummins went upstairs seeking a review.

The review showed the late and long inswinger was on its way to crashing onto the off stump and the on-ground umpire’s decision stayed. The pacer was back into the hut and Australia were 177 for 7. The hosts’ gritty show, however, continued with the next batsman Mitchell Starc – also a bowler – giving a determined company to Head. Australia were 191 for 7 at stumps, trailing India by 59 runs.

Team India was bowled out on their overnight score of 250 in the very first delivery of the day with Josh Hazlewood picking Mohammed Shami. The first day saw Cheteshwar Pujara slamming 123 to script India’s turnaround after they faced a batting debacle.
Day 3 of the Adelaide Test will be the most crucial in this tug-of-war Test with the hosts expecting Head to continue leading the resurrection with as much help from the tail-enders. On the other hand, Team India will be sincerely praying that the Australian tail doesn’t wag the dog too much as was the case often in England.
However, either way, this Test certainly will have a result and an exciting one.
